Recent years have seen a proliferation of artificial intelligence tools that have entered the market for human resources and talent development purposes. AI tools used for automated interviewing have drawn attention to this growing practice and caused increased concern among talent development professionals. In a growing HR technology and educational technology, market many professionals are faced with making decisions without the best possible knowledge of how to evaluate these tools.
This session will present some of the basics around AI tools and present a systematic approach to evaluating their efficacy and usage in organizations.

2) How to assess vendor’s claims regarding an AI tool
3) How to conduct a validity study of a pre-hire assessment
About the Presenter: Sayeed Islam
Sy has over 10 years of experience in a variety of corporate, academic, and applied settings. He completed his Bachelors in Economics from Rutgers University, his MBA in Human Resource Management and a Master’s of Arts in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He completed his PhD in Applied Organizational Psychology from Hofstra University. Sy has served in management, consultant and research roles in a variety of organizations.
He is currently an Assistant Professor of Industrial Organizational Psychology at Farmingdale State College. In addition to his role as a professor, he is a co-founder and a Principal Consultant with Talent Metrics. In his role at Talent Metrics, he collaborates with organizations through consulting engagements in his areas of expertise (training and development, selection, survey design, performance management, and team building).
