Summary

What situations cause you stress? Is it completing a work project on time, caring for aging parents or fear of driving over a bridge? Do you ever wish you could press a button and have those situations lose their symptom-inducing power over you?

Allow us to teach you Spot-It™, a simple yet powerful 4-Step Method to help you regain your peace of mind when faced with stress-inducing situations. The Method is a best-kept-secret that was created decades ago by a brilliant neuropsychiatrist who achieved great success with this cognitive behavioral approach.

What’s appealing about the Method (and the emotionally intelligent concepts that surround it) is that it will help you feel better in-the-moment when you need it most. It is also a peer-to-peer method so folks who know the Method can help each other.

Whether you keep a printed version of the 4-Step Method in your pocket or you prefer to grab your phone and Spot situations using the app – both are like having a panic button in your pocket.

The Learning Objectives of this presentation is to introduce attendees to a proven, practical tool that can be used in-the-moment to help themselves or others respond in a more balanced manner to stress-inducing situations.  Additionally, attendees will be taught powerful practices to increase their emotional intelligence and boost self-confidence.

Tara Marcus

Why Not Spot-It?

Tara Marcus knows business — and she has made it her business to transfer the skills and knowledge she’s gained working in and for Fortune 100 companies over the past 30 years to workplace professionals.  After reaching Senior Leadership status, Tara left the corporate world to become a woman-business owner.  Tara, along with her partner and husband Evan Marcus, founded DillonMarcus – a firm dedicated to creating world-class organizations.  DillonMarcus’ extensive client list features prominent names in the for-profit, non-profit, and higher education arenas.

In the past five years, both Tara and her husband noticed a strong uptick in stress & anxiety among the individuals they coached.  To help their coachees navigate stress-inducing situations, they began teaching them a 4-Step Method to use when they got triggered.  The Method helps people manage their mindset so they can regain peace of mind and focus on their work.  To bring this solution to a broader audience, they developed the Why Not Spot-It? app so more people could access this 4-Step Method when they needed it.

Tara's favorite Spot-It™ phrase is, "Don't talk to anyone who is not in the room with you."  A former GE Capital Alumna, Tara holds a Master’s in Training & Organizational Development, was an Adjunct Professor in the Rutgers MBA program, and taught the iconic Dale Carnegie® course.
