Technology SIG: Accessibility in Learning Design

This SIG is a joint event with the NYC Chapter of ATD Free and Open

19% of the population is disabled and up to 30% of all disabilities are not visible. What does this mean for the training you develop? How much of your training is not effective because your audience is not able to fully receive your message?

Just a few months ago I was struggling to see anything on a computer screen. I found myself learning to change font sizes, enlarge windows, and do what ever I could to read what was on the screen. In addition, I found there were websites I could not read because of the color schemes or the color and size of the fonts.

During this is Zoom meeting, we will work in breakout rooms to share ideas on accessibility, resources for developing training, and tools to make learning more accessible. Plan to share your thoughts, resources, and tools dealing with accessibility in learning.

At the end of the session, we will compile all of the resources, tools, etc. and have them on our website for attendees to access.
