    Recently, it's become an expectation in most organizations that all departments use data to make decisions and evaluate results. Most of us are not trained analysts, and while the power of data can’t be argued with, harnessing that power can seem out of reach for someone with limited experience with data.

    However, solving problems with data starts with simple but often overlooked questions: asking the right questions. Asking the right questions drives the exploration and analysis of available data. In this session, we’ll dive into how to tie questions to value drivers and break down problems to ensure we’re genuinely making data-informed decisions.

    Suzannah is a Master Facilitator at StoryIQ who combines her love for data analytics and storytelling with a passion for empowering learners to solve their own problems and tell their own stories with data. She takes a practical approach to helping professionals use data and equips learners with immediately practical tools and techniques in their day-to-day work.

    As a former consultant, Suzannah has supported data analytics, learning, and change management efforts for clients within US government agencies, including the US Agency for International Development and the Department of State. Currently, she supports adult learners across the private sector in data storytelling, presentation skills, and data analytics.

    Suzannah holds a Master’s Degree in Global Human Development from Georgetown University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from The Ohio State University.

        Summary 

        This program is for everyone who designs, facilitates, or manages online learning programs, including elearning, webinars, virtual classrooms, websites, computer- based job aids, social media, anything that involves technology – which a great deal of learning today does.

        It’s critical to consider accessibility, disability, and usability in online learning, because without understanding the types of assistive technologies learners may use and how to design with inclusion in mind, you may end up unintentionally excluding your learners from your training program.

        So in this session, we’re going to learn how to create accessible online learning, and also learn how to evaluate our existing courses for accessibility. Participants will leave with templates and resources to get started on course accessibility right away!

        • Discuss types of disabilities and assistive technology, as well as challenges experienced by disabled learners
        • Learn how to create accessible online learning (with practice activities!)
        • Learn how to evaluate accessibility of existing online learning
        • Bonus! How do I convince others to prioritize accessibility?

        Britne Jenke, CPTD has been a member of ATD and an active member and leader of the award-winning Greater Las Vegas chapter since 2017, serving as its president in 2025/26. With a background in web design and educational technology, Britne is passionate about accessibility, disability advocacy, and inclusive design. She holds several certifications such as Talent Development (CPTD), Human Resources (SHRM-SCP), Accessibility (CPACC), and Diversity & Inclusion, and speaks regularly on accessibility and disability inclusion in the workplace. Britne was featured in 2021 on the Association for Talent Development (ATD)’s DEI podcast for her work in designing inclusive training.

        Applying Andragogy to Leadership Development

         

        Summary 

        Presenting my new book MOVING ON BY! HARNESSING MY SLED DOG TEAM'S INSTINCT TO WIN! I will share case studies as well as tales from the trial that trainers, facilitators, and consultants will find useful to sell their services as well as inspire and develop high-potential team leaders. Follow-up workshops are available to explore and apply the Self-coaching process employing the eight case studies in the book. Participants will examine andragogical techniques to engage and guide their clients' development goals.

        Dr. Maddalena has been described as a coach, author, speaker and trailblazer in education and organizational dynamics. As the first woman accepted into Rutgers University’s Labor Education program, she delved into the intricacies of human and organizational behavior, earning an interdisciplinary Doctor of Education with a second major in Human Communications.

        While a doctoral candidate she created a management development workshop and established Morris Business Group, Inc. The initiative gained traction at US corporations, making Dr. Maddalena the inaugural woman to lead management seminars at major pharmaceutical and manufacturing entities. Evolving into a global program conducted in multiple languages, this endeavor empowered over 6,000 new leaders.

        Transitioning to a role as a Senior Consultant, Dr. Maddalena joined a national consulting company while maintaining her client base as Maddalena Transitions Management.

        Specializing in client interventions, conflict resolution, and navigating organizational growth dynamics, she enjoyed six years of pre-dawn and weekend dog sledding. This unique hobby prepared her for the transformative experience of motherhood with sled dogs becoming pets. The leadership and teamwork lessons learned on the trail inspired Dr. Maddalena to write her third book, MOVING “ON BY!” HARNESSING MY SLED DOG TEAM’S INSTINCT TO WIN, presenting leadership Case Studies followed by Insight and Tasks such as where you would run on a dog sled team.

        Today, as MTMCoach, Dr. Maddalena is an Executive Coach with the distinction of being the first woman coach at six multinational corporations spanning the pharma, biotech, construction, and manufacturing industries. She guides leaders in demanding occupations, helping them navigate organizational nuances and develop robust networks in new or enhanced roles. Committed to fostering coaching cultures, she has assembled a network of Leadership Coaches aligning development with corporate visions and missions.

        Leading Hybrid Teams
           

        Summary 

        Does this sound familiar? Robbie working remotely can’t find the current process map his team is developing and when he sends an instant message and then a phone call to the team lead there is no response, so he sits and frustratingly waits.

        There are benefits to remote and hybrid work from the flexibility of time for life and living to managing the well being needs of self and others including child/elder care. The key to performance success with hybrid teams is to create clear expectations around communications, time frames, and shared resources and to communicate them actively among all teammates. Creating a culture of open conversations, curiosity, and trust in the intentions of everyone, regardless of location and time, is the framework hybrid teams require to work effectively and efficiently with each other.

        Research and our personal experience have shown trust is a key factor in team performance, and by extension, in organizational performance. As COVID-19 brought about a sudden shift to hybrid and virtual collaboration, the need for trust-building in new ways was seen. In this session we will explore how you can foster trust and develop the communication and workflow process techniques needed within your hybrid and virtual team.

        William J. Ryan

        After years helping organizations strategically develop, engage, and retain talent, Bill Ryan founded Ryan Consulting, LLC. Blending deep expertise in learning, talent development, and technology, he partners with clients to advance business goals by optimizing people, process, and purpose.

        Bill has led performance support and instructional design initiatives in government, corporate, and healthcare settings. His corporate leadership experience includes serving as CLO and CIO, guiding talent growth and technology adoption to drive impact. He has partnered with organizations like the Center for Internet Security, Liberty Mutual, Delta Faucet, and education institutions to implement customized strategies addressing gaps in competencies, leadership capabilities, staffing, and retention.

        Recent projects include developing a competency-based hiring framework for retail, a state workforce development initiative expanding talent pipelines, a leadership development program for manufacturers, and introducing “Workflow Learning” techniques with Vignettes Learning.

        Bill holds a Ph.D. in Computing Technology in Education and is deeply passionate about the intersection of learning and technology.
